Frequently Asked Questions
How do I use it?
Dip. Brush. Smile!
We recommend dipping your brush directly in the jar to apply. Not only is this extremely easy to use but you can actually get it all out. Alternatively, you can use a small spoon to apply to bristles.Â
Please re-cap the jar after use to prevent the product from drying.
Crush. Brush. Smile!
- Place tablet in mouth
- Crush with teeth
- Experience effervescent fizzing and foaming
- Brush normally!
Please re-cap the jar after use and leave desiccant sachets in place. Tablets will absorb moisture.
Where can I refill my empty jar?
We are so very lucky to be working with the following Zero Waste/Refill Stores:
If you know of a great refill store in your area and want them to carry Nelson Naturals, just ask!Â
If you don’t have access to any of these locations, you can repurpose our jars (the ideas are endless!) or put them in the recycling with a clean conscience.Â
Are your products vegan?
Yes! All Nelson Naturals products are vegan & cruelty-free.
Do you test on animals?
We don't test on animals and neither should you!
All of our oral care products contain xylitol, which is great news for your mouth and teeth! However please be aware that xylitol is toxic to dogs. Xylitol can be found in oral care products, gums, baked goods, and even peanut butter so please be careful with your pups!
My toothpaste is drying up / getting hard -
We strive to provide you with the cleanest possible product free of any unnecessary emulsifiers, gelling agents or other filler. Leaving the lid on between use should prevent our product from drying. Should you find that our product has dried up, simply add some water and stir with a metal spoon. Start with only a few millilitres and add till desired consistency is reached.
Is separation normal?
We produce a very natural product with no preservatives, emulsifiers, gelling agents, stabilizers, or fillers. That means that over time under certain conditions (think heat!), a purely aesthetic natural separation of the product could happen. Should you find that the product has separated, it is still completely fine to use, simply stir it with a metal spoon!
Shipping Questions:
Couriers:
Our company partners with several couriers, including UPS, Purolator, ICS, FedEx, and Canada Post, to handle our shipping needs. Our system automatically selects the most suitable courier for each order based on the best price and shortest transit time.
If you prefer to use a specific courier, please include a note with your order. We will do our best to accommodate your request. However, if the chosen courier incurs significantly higher costs, an additional charge may apply to your order.
International orders can be subject to the receiving country’s import fees, duty, taxes and/or brokerage fees. These fees are set by your home country’s government as per their import/export regulations. Funds are due upon receipt of the package.
Important: Protocol for Damaged Product -
In spite of our best efforts to pack our products in a safe and sustainable way, sometimes the carriers are just too rough and damage can occur.
Firstly if there is broken glass please be very careful not to cut yourself.
Carrier damage claim protocols are very strict and require the following:
Please take detailed pictures of the products and box then send to admin@nelsonnaturals.com. Please include a description of how many units were affected.Â
In some cases the carrier may require inspection of the package in person so we will let you know as soon as possible if this is required.
What makes Nelson Naturals better than any other toothpaste?
Most brands use harsh chemicals like Sodium Fluoride and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. These chemicals are highly toxic and if ingested it is recommended you contact poison control. Nelson Naturals uses only food-grade ingredients.
The consistency of the paste changes over time is this OK?
Yes, absolutely. It will not go bad, but it might dry out if left open for an extended period. If this happens, just add a bit of water and stir!
What is this symbol?
This little symbol is called a PAO. You'll find it on most cosmetic products, and it denotes the most ideal timeline in which to use a product after opening it for the first time. For our toothpastes, we recommend using them up within 2 months :) We recommend using our natural deodorant within 12 months of opening.
What minerals are used?
We use a Liquid Mineral Concentrate that is ionic and desalinated. It contains over 72 different naturally occurring minerals from the Great Salt Lake in Utah.
I have sensitive teeth, can I still use Nelson Naturals?
Yes - you may even find that you experience a decline in sensitivity after using Nelson Naturals.Â
I am a retailer - How can I stock your product?Â
We always welcome new retail partners. If you are interested in stocking our product please sign up for a wholesale account to get started!
